Tig – Theater In The First Store, located in Mönchengladbach, Germany, occupies a historically significant building. Originally constructed as a department store in the early 20th century, the structure underwent conversion into a cultural venue in the 1980s. The theater’s name reflects its origins – being situated on the ground floor (“in the first store”) of the former Kaufhaus Tigges.

The venue is recognized for its intimate atmosphere and versatile space which hosts a diverse program encompassing theater productions, concerts, readings, and other performing arts events.
