Originally established in 1898, it’s associated with the Kolping family, a Catholic lay movement founded by Adolph Kolping dedicated to promoting education, vocational training, and social welfare. The building itself has undergone several renovations while retaining its architectural character. Today, Kolpinghaus serves as a center for community events, educational workshops, and cultural performances. It regularly hosts concerts, dances, and meetings for various groups. The venue offers a relatively intimate setting capable of accommodating several hundred attendees and is known for its good acoustics. It continues to operate under the auspices of the Diocese of Münster.
