Bob Baldwin is a contemporary jazz pianist and composer known for blending traditional jazz harmonies with elements of funk, soul, and hip-hop. He has released numerous albums as a leader and collaborated with a wide range of musicians across the jazz spectrum.
The Tin Pan is a long-standing music venue located in Richmond, Virginia. Originally opened in 1996 by Danny Avison, it quickly became a cornerstone of the city’s live music scene, specializing in showcasing local and regional talent alongside nationally touring acts. The venue is particularly noted for its intimate atmosphere – it holds approximately 200 people – and its commitment to supporting original music, especially genres like jazz, blues, roots rock, and Americana. Over the years The Tin Pan has hosted performances by many established artists early in their careers, fostering a reputation as a listening room focused on musical quality. It underwent a period of closure in 2020 but successfully reopened through community support and fundraising efforts. The venue continues to operate as an independent business dedicated to live performance.
