Experience Berlin Philharmonic live on March 11th
The Berlin Philharmonic will perform at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès in Strasbourg, France on March 11, 2027. Renowned globally, the Berlin Philharmonic is celebrated for its distinctive sound – often described as possessing a rich, warm tone and exceptional clarity. Historically, the orchestra has been a pioneer in orchestral technique and interpretation, known for a democratic structure where musicians collectively manage many aspects of its operation. Its repertoire spans from classical and romantic works to contemporary compositions, frequently commissioning new pieces.
The Palais de la Musique et des Congrès (PMC) opened in 2000 and serves as Strasbourg’s primary convention and concert venue. Designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the PMC features three main halls: the Salle de Concerts (concert hall), the Salle des Étoiles (star hall), and several modular spaces. The Salle de Concerts, where the Berlin Philharmonic will perform, is particularly noted for its acoustics and capacity of approximately 1,200 seats. The building’s construction was part of a larger urban renewal project aimed at revitalizing the area around the railway station in Strasbourg and establishing it as a modern cultural hub within the city.
