Benny Green is a British jazz pianist renowned for his virtuosic technique and swinging, hard bop influenced style. Emerging prominently in the 1980s, he gained recognition through collaborations with prominent figures like Art Blakey and Betty Carter, establishing himself as a leading voice in contemporary jazz piano. His playing is characterized by melodic improvisation, rhythmic drive, and a deep understanding of jazz tradition blended with modern harmonic concepts. Annecy, located in the Haute-Savoie department of southeastern France, is a town situated on the northern tip of Lake Annecy. The lake itself is known for its exceptionally clear water, often referred to as "France’s cleanest lake," and is surrounded by the French Alps. Historically a Chamonix administration center during the Savoy period, Annecy transitioned to French rule in 1860.
