The BBC Concert Orchestra will perform at the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall in London on August 30, 2026. The orchestra is recognised for its versatility across a broad repertoire, encompassing light classical music, film scores, musical theatre, and popular arrangements alongside standard orchestral works. Originally formed in 1931 as the BBC Variety Orchestra, it evolved to become a core ensemble within the BBC’s performing groups, known for its work in broadcasting and live performance.

The Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall is located within the Royal College of Music (RCM) in South Kensington. Opened in 1903, it was originally known as the New Concert Hall and renamed in 1996 to honour Amaryllis Fleming, a distinguished cellist and alumna of the RCM. The hall is valued for its excellent acoustics and intimate setting, accommodating approximately 400 audience members. It frequently hosts performances by RCM students, faculty and visiting ensembles. Its design incorporates features intended to enhance sound quality, making it a favoured venue for chamber orchestras and solo recitals as well as larger ensembles like the BBC Concert Orchestra. The hall underwent refurbishment in recent years to maintain its standards.
