Caird Hall, situated in the City Centre of Dundee, opened in 1914 following a donation from James Caird, a prominent jute baron and shipbuilder. Designed by architects Ward & Lee, the hall is noted for its Edwardian Baroque architectural style and excellent acoustics. It has served as a significant cultural venue for over a century, hosting a diverse range of performances including orchestral concerts, ballet, opera, and popular music events. The hall underwent a major refurbishment completed in 2013 which enhanced its facilities while preserving its original character. It is currently managed by Dundee City Council and forms part of the city’s commitment to providing access to arts and culture.
