Bang on a Can All-Stars will perform at Mass MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts on July 31, 2026. The ensemble is known for its dynamic and genre-bending musical style, frequently described as post-minimalist. Their work incorporates elements of rock, funk, classical, and found sounds, often featuring extended techniques and improvisation. Founded in 1987, Bang on a Can All-Stars emerged from the larger Bang on a Can collective, initially focused on creating non-traditional musical events in New York City warehouses. The group has since commissioned hundreds of works and collaborated with diverse artists globally.

Mass MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) is one of the largest centers for contemporary visual and performing arts in the United States. Established in 1999, it occupies a repurposed factory complex – formerly the Sprague Electric Company – representing a significant revitalization project for the town of North Adams. The museum’s expansive galleries are housed within the brick mill buildings, maintaining much of the original industrial architecture.
