BADBADNOTGOOD (BBNG) is a Canadian instrumental ensemble renowned for their innovative fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music. Formed in Toronto in 2010 by members Matthew Tavares, Chester Hansen, Alexander Sowinski, and Leland Whitty, the group quickly gained acclaim for their genre-blending approach and virtuosic musicianship. Their early work involved reinterpreting contemporary hip-hop tracks from artists like Odd Future and Tyler, The Creator, which helped them build a dedicated following.

BBNG’s style is characterized by intricate jazz improvisation combined with modern beats and production techniques, creating a fresh sound that appeals to both jazz purists and new audiences. Over the years, they have released several critically acclaimed albums such as *III* (2014), *IV* (2016), and *Talk Memory* (2021), showcasing their evolving artistry and collaboration with notable figures like Kendrick Lamar and Kaytranada.
