Azymuth, a highly influential Brazilian instrumental group, will perform at La Nau Locales De Ensayo in Barcelona on September 29, 2026. Formed in 1973, Azymuth is renowned for its pioneering role in developing Brazilian jazz-fusion, blending samba, bossa nova, and funk with elements of jazz improvisation and electronic music. Their sound is characterized by intricate arrangements, sophisticated harmonies, and prominent use of synthesizers alongside traditional Brazilian percussion. La Nau Locales De Ensayo is a cultural space situated in the El Raval district of Barcelona. Originally a former shipbuilding warehouse (“La Nau” translates to “The Ship” in Catalan), it was repurposed in the late 1990s as a hub for artistic creation and performance. It houses multiple rehearsal spaces (“Locales De Ensayo” meaning rehearsal rooms) alongside a smaller concert venue that frequently hosts independent and experimental music acts spanning various genres.
