Arcangelo, the British instrumental ensemble led by Jonathan Cohen, will perform at Kloster Eberbach in Eltville am Rhein, Germany on September 3rd, 2026. The group is recognized for its historically informed performances of Baroque and Classical period music, characterized by expressive phrasing, refined textures, and a focus on illuminating the dramatic and emotional content within the scores. Arcangelo frequently performs repertoire spanning composers such as Handel, Vivaldi, and Mozart, often incorporating lesser-known works alongside established masterpieces.

Kloster Eberbach is a former Cistercian monastery founded in 1135. Situated in the Rheingau wine region, it played a significant role in viticulture from the Middle Ages onwards and continues to be an active winery today. The monastery complex showcases Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles, with notable features including the impressive wine cellar – one of the largest in Europe – and the refectory. Following secularization in 1803, Kloster Eberbach transitioned from a religious institution to state ownership and has been maintained as a cultural monument. It gained further recognition as a filming location for scenes in Ridley Scott’s film *The Name of the Rose*.
