Anne-Sophie Mutter is a globally renowned violinist celebrated for her technically brilliant and emotionally expressive interpretations of both classical and contemporary repertoire. Her performances are noted for their intensity, refined tone, and a commitment to commissioning new works, expanding the violin concerto landscape. She frequently collaborates with leading orchestras and composers worldwide.
The Alte Oper Frankfurt (Old Opera Frankfurt) holds a significant place in German cultural history. Originally opened in 1880, it quickly became a prominent venue for opera and orchestral concerts. Heavily damaged during Allied bombing raids in World War II, the building was rebuilt and reopened in 1981 – not as an opera house (that function moved to the newer Oper Frankfurt), but dedicated exclusively to concerts, ballet, and other performing arts. The restored Alte Oper maintains much of its original opulent Neo-Renaissance architecture, including its lavish interiors and renowned acoustics. It is considered one of Germany’s most important concert halls, hosting internationally acclaimed artists and ensembles. The hall's main auditorium seats approximately 1,400 people. The building also contains smaller spaces for chamber music performances and events.
