Experience Anima Eterna live on September 18th
Anima Eterna, a Belgian period instrument orchestra founded by conductor Filip Bral, will perform at the Concertgebouw in Bruges on September 18, 2026. The ensemble specializes in historically informed performance practice, striving for authentic interpretations of music primarily from the Classical and Romantic periods. Their approach focuses on utilizing instruments and performance techniques consistent with the eras in which the compositions were originally created, resulting in a sound distinct from modern orchestral interpretations. Anima Eterna frequently explores lesser-known works alongside established repertoire, often undertaking extensive research to inform their performances.
The Concertgebouw Bruges opened in 2022 and is a new concert hall designed by Robbert Ameloot and Liesbeth Van der Pol of Robbrecht en Daem architecten. It is built around the historic Pandreitje, a former Dominican monastery dating back to the 17th century. The hall’s acoustics were carefully considered during its design, aiming to provide an optimal experience for both performers and audience members. While relatively new, it quickly established itself as a significant cultural venue in Bruges, hosting a diverse range of classical music performances and other artistic events.
