St Giles’ Cripplegate is a historic parish church located in the Barbican area of London. Originally founded in 1310, the current building largely dates from the mid-14th century, with significant restoration work undertaken by Sir Christopher Wren in the 17th century following damage during the Great Fire of London. The church has a long association with radical political and religious thought; Oliver Cromwell was a churchwarden here during the Interregnum. Notably, it served as a meeting place for dissenting Protestants and played a role in early nonconformist movements.
