Altan is scheduled to perform at the Center for the Arts of Homer in Homer, New York, on February 23, 2027. The group is renowned for its performance of traditional Irish music, specifically drawing heavily from the Donegal tradition. Their sound is characterized by Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh’s distinctive fiddle playing and vocals, alongside arrangements incorporating bouzouki, guitar, flute, and percussion. Altan consistently features both instrumental pieces and songs in the Irish language alongside English-language material. They are considered highly influential in popularizing traditional Irish music internationally since forming in 1987.

The Center for the Arts of Homer (CAH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing arts programming and performance opportunities for the Central New York region.
