Birdland Theater is a prominent jazz club located in the Theater District of Manhattan, New York City. Originally established in 1949 by Morris Levy, the original Birdland at 315 West 44th Street quickly became legendary, hosting performances by jazz icons such as Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Count Basie. Though the original venue closed in 1965, it was revived in 1986 as Birdland Jazz Club at a different location and subsequently moved to its current space within the Paramount Hotel in 2015 becoming Birdland Theater.
