Alexandre Kantorow, a French classical pianist recognized for his powerful technique, poetic sensibility, and interpretations often described as both virtuosic and deeply emotional, will perform at the Konzerthaus Vienna on September 10, 2026. Kantorow frequently champions both established repertoire and lesser-known works, displaying a particular affinity for Romantic-era composers alongside classical masters. He gained international acclaim as the first French pianist to win the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2018).
The Konzerthaus Mozart Saal is a renowned concert hall within the larger Konzerthaus Vienna complex. Opened in 1913, it was designed by architect Marcel Kamitz and boasts exceptional acoustics specifically tailored for chamber music and solo instrumental performances. Unlike the larger Grosser Saal, the Mozart Saal’s relatively intimate size – seating approximately 600 – fosters a close connection between performer and audience. The hall’s design incorporates elements of Neo-Baroque style with rich ornamentation and warm color palettes. Throughout its history, the Mozart Saal has hosted performances by many of the world’s leading musicians and remains a central venue for classical music in Vienna. It is considered one of Europe's finest halls for its intended purpose.
