Y U QT (pronounced "You Cute") is the electronic music project of Dustin Dorough, originating from Oklahoma City. Initially gaining traction in the 2010s through online platforms like SoundCloud and Tumblr, Y U QT quickly became a prominent figure within the emerging vaporwave and future funk scenes. Dorough's style is characterized by heavily manipulated samples – often sourced from 80s and 90s Japanese city pop, smooth jazz, and commercial jingles – layered with lo-fi aesthetics and a distinctly nostalgic feel.

Early releases like *Feelmatic* (2014) established this signature sound, garnering significant online attention. He’s released albums on prominent netlabels such as 100% Electronica and Luxury Elite, contributing significantly to the genre’s development. Beyond album releases, Y U QT is known for extensive remix work, including official remixes for artists like Macross 82-99 and Saint Pepsi (Skylar Spence).
