Initially gaining recognition through self-released albums on Bandcamp starting in 2017, Portman quickly built a dedicated online following attracted to his atmospheric soundscapes. His work often features piano as a central element, layered with subtle electronics, field recordings, and string arrangements – creating pieces that are both intimate and expansive.

Portman’s discography includes critically acclaimed albums like *Polyhymnia* (2019) and *Groundswell* (2021), the latter released on Erased Tapes Records.
