Thomas Strønen is a renowned Norwegian drummer, composer, and bandleader. Born on December 7, 1972, he is widely respected in the music industry for his adept improvisational skills and unique approach to jazz. Strønen has a distinctive style that beautifully blends elements of electronic music with acoustic jazz.

Strønen graduated from the Trondheim Musikkonservatorium and later pursued a master's degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He first gained prominence as part of the Norwegian jazz ensemble Food, which he co-founded in 1998 with British saxophonist Iain Ballamy. The group has released several critically acclaimed albums on the Rune Grammofon and ECM labels.

As a solo artist, Strønen has released multiple albums under his name. His debut solo album "Pohlitz" (2006) was noted for its innovative use of live electronics and percussive elements. In 2016, he formed his ensemble Time Is A Blind Guide, releasing an eponymous album that showcases his compositional prowess in blending chamber music with improvisational jazz.

Strønen’s versatility has seen him work with various artists across different genres, including Humcrush, Meadow, Parish, Sidsel Endresen, Christian Fennesz, Nils Petter Molvaer, and Bobo Stenson. He boasts over 60 album credits to his name.
