Thirty Seconds to Mars, formed in 1998 in Los Angeles, California, is an American rock band fronted by Jared Leto (also known for his acting career). Initially a post-grunge outfit, the band – currently comprising Leto, Shannon Leto, and Stephen Gomez – evolved into a genre-bending act incorporating elements of progressive rock, electronic music, and alternative metal.

Their self-titled debut album (2002) gained moderate traction, but it was *A Beautiful Lie* (2005) that propelled them to international fame with singles like “The Kill (Bury Me)” and “From Yesterday.” This album achieved platinum certification in multiple countries. *This Is War* (2009) continued their success, notably featuring the epic title track and a groundbreaking promotional campaign involving ARG (Alternate Reality Game) elements.

To date, Thirty Seconds to Mars have released five studio albums, culminating in *It's the End of the World But It's a Beautiful Day* (2018). They hold the Guinness World Record for the longest concert tour in history (300 shows over 33 months supporting *This Is War*).
