Experience Temples
Temples emerged from Kettering, England in 2014, quickly becoming central figures in the neo-psychedelia revival. The band – comprised of James Bagshaw (vocals, guitar), Thomas Walmsley (bass), Samuel Toms (drums), and Adam Smith (keyboards, guitar) – initially gained traction with their self-released single “Shelter Song,” lauded for its swirling textures and nostalgic sound.
Their debut album *Sun Structures* (2014) was nominated for the Mercury Prize, establishing them as critical darlings. Temples’ music draws heavily from 1960s psychedelic rock influences like The Byrds and Love, blended with elements of baroque pop and modern production techniques. Subsequent albums *Volcanoes* (2017) and *Hot Motion* (2019) saw them refine their sound, exploring more expansive arrangements and incorporating electronic elements while retaining their signature hazy atmosphere.
*Re-Stitched* (2023) presented re-imagined versions of earlier work alongside new material, showcasing their evolving artistry.
