Tai Shan (born 1995 in Portland, Oregon) is an American producer and DJ central to the blossoming “hyperdub-influenced” sound of modern club music. Initially gaining recognition through SoundCloud uploads around 2016, he quickly became a prominent figure within online music communities for his distinctive blend of footwork, jungle, and deconstructed club aesthetics.

Shan’s productions are characterized by intricate, rapidly shifting rhythms, heavily processed vocal samples, and a dark, atmospheric quality. He’s released on influential labels including Teklife (the label founded by DJ Rashad), Planet Mu, and his own private label, Future Shock.

Key releases include the *Heatwave* EP (2018) on Teklife and his debut album *Drift* (2023) on Planet Mu, which received critical acclaim for its innovative sound design and emotional depth. He's toured extensively across North America and Europe, performing at festivals like Movement Detroit and Boiler Room. Tai Shan’s work has been praised for pushing the boundaries of electronic dance music while maintaining a strong connection to its roots in Chicago footwork and UK garage. He continues to be a leading voice in experimental bass music.
