Plutoz Beach, the moniker of Finnish musician Jussi Heikkinen, emerged in the late 2010s crafting a distinctive blend of vaporwave, future funk, and disco house. Initially gaining traction through self-released tracks on SoundCloud beginning around 2016, Plutoz Beach quickly built a dedicated online following for his sample-heavy, nostalgic soundscapes. His music frequently incorporates elements of Japanese city pop and 80s advertising jingles, creating a uniquely vibrant and often melancholic atmosphere.
Key to his success was the viral hit “Friday,” released in 2017, which propelled him into wider recognition and spawned numerous remixes. This led to releases on prominent future funk labels like Saint Pepsi’s label, Caramel Pop Records, and City Pop Records. He has since released several EPs and albums including "Beachfront Property" (2019) and "Pray For Me" (2023), consistently garnering praise for his meticulous production and evocative sonic world.
