Experience Paul Jackson

Paul Jackson is a highly sought-after American multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger renowned for his versatile contributions to jazz, R&B, and pop music. Beginning his professional career in the 1970s, Jackson quickly established himself as a premier bassist, working extensively with Herbie Hancock (appearing on *Thrust* and *Man-Child*), Stevie Wonder (*Songs in the Key of Life*), and Michael Jackson (*Off the Wall*, *Thriller*, *Bad*).

Beyond bass, Jackson is proficient on guitar, keyboards, and percussion. He’s a founding member of the Grammy-nominated jazz fusion group The Headhunters, further solidifying his influence. His distinct style blends technical mastery with a deeply soulful feel, characterized by complex rhythmic patterns and harmonic sophistication.

Jackson's prolific session work extends to artists like Quincy Jones, George Duke, and Earth, Wind & Fire. He has also released several solo albums showcasing his compositional talents – including *I'm Just Doing My Thing* (1982) – demonstrating his range beyond sideman roles. He continues to perform and record actively, remaining a respected figure within the music industry.
