Momi Maiga is a Malian singer-songwriter and percussionist rapidly gaining international recognition for her captivating blend of traditional Wassoulou music and contemporary sounds. Born in Sikasso, Mali, Maiga began performing with her mother, a renowned Wassoulou singer, at a young age, deeply immersing herself in the genre’s powerful vocal techniques and rhythmic complexity.

Her solo career blossomed after relocating to Europe, culminating in the critically acclaimed 2023 album *Ma Tenu*, released on Real World Records (Peter Gabriel’s label). *Ma Tenu* showcases Maiga's distinctive voice – raw, emotive, and powerfully resonant – layered over intricate percussion arrangements featuring the calabash and shakers she expertly plays.
