Marek Kozak is a Polish composer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound artist primarily known for his work blending elements of ambient, drone, and experimental electronic music with field recordings and traditional Polish folk instrumentation. Born in 1981 in Kraków, Poland, Kozak initially gained recognition within the Polish underground music scene during the early 2000s. He is a founding member of the experimental collective Kwiat Jasnego Dnia, active from 2003 to 2016, releasing several albums exploring noise and improvisation.

Kozak’s solo work, beginning in earnest around 2010, diverges into more textural and atmospheric territories. He frequently incorporates instruments like the jaw harp, hurdy-gurdy, and various self-built electronic devices into his compositions. His albums have appeared on labels including Bocian Records and Denovali Records. *Płynące Mosty* (2017), released on Bocian Records, received critical acclaim for its evocative soundscapes referencing Polish landscapes and folklore.

He has performed live extensively throughout Europe and North America, often utilizing immersive audio-visual setups. Kozak’s work has been described as deeply rooted in place and memory, often evoking a sense of liminality and melancholic beauty. He continues to release new material and contribute to collaborative projects within the experimental music community.
