Experience Ladom Ensemble
Ladom Ensemble is a Polish vocal quartet specializing in traditional and contemporary interpretations of Eastern European polyphonic music, particularly from Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia. Formed in 2010 by Agnieszka Budzisz-Krzyżanowska, Piotr Pluta, Marcin Wawrzyniak, and Karol Ziębiński (later replaced by Bartłomiej Wezner), the ensemble draws heavily on field research conducted throughout these regions.
Their style blends historically informed performance practice with modern vocal techniques, creating a uniquely resonant and captivating sound. Ladom doesn’t simply *perform* folk music; they reconstruct lost harmonies and vocal traditions, often working directly with remaining practitioners of these ancient styles.
They've released three critically acclaimed albums: *Ladom* (2013), *Oda Do Radości* (2016 - nominated for the Fryderyk Award, Poland's equivalent of the Grammys), and *War/Peace* (2023), the latter exploring Ukrainian folk songs in response to the ongoing conflict.
