KOUROU FIA (born Kourosh Firouzi, October 14, 1993) is an Iranian-born, Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter gaining recognition for his genre-bending approach to electronic music. Initially self-taught, KOUROU FIA blends elements of ambient, downtempo, IDM, and glitch with influences from his Persian heritage. He began releasing music independently in the early 2010s, building a following through platforms like SoundCloud.
His breakthrough came with the EP *The Tourist* (2018), followed by critically acclaimed albums *Worlds Within Worlds* (2020) and *Afterglow* (2023) on Bastard Jazz Recordings. *Afterglow* specifically garnered praise for its intricate sound design and emotionally resonant melodies. KOUROU FIA’s work frequently incorporates field recordings and textural layers creating immersive sonic landscapes.
