Juls, born Julian Okoro, is a British-Ghanaian record producer and DJ pivotal in the rise of Afrobeats and Amapiano globally. Initially gaining recognition as a producer for UK grime artists like Skepta and JME in the early 2010s, he transitioned focus to West African sounds, becoming instrumental in shaping the contemporary Afrobeats landscape.
His signature production style blends highlife, jazz, and soulful melodies with contemporary Afrobeats rhythms – often characterized by lush instrumentation and a relaxed tempo. Juls has produced extensively for artists including Mr Eazi, Maleek Berry, Burna Boy (early career), and Ladé, contributing significantly to their breakthrough success.
Releasing critically acclaimed bodies of work like *Brothers With A Foreign Accent* (2017) and *Sounds From My Head* (2020), Juls showcases his versatility not just as a producer but also as an artist in his own right.
