Experience Huw Lloyd

Huw Lloyd Langton (born 1944) is a British guitarist, session musician, and record producer with a remarkably diverse career spanning over six decades. Initially gaining prominence as a member of The Remo Four – known for their instrumental hit “Baby Jump” and early association with The Beatles (they backed George Harrison on his first solo recording sessions) – Lloyd transitioned into a highly sought-after session player throughout the 1970s.

He contributed significantly to recordings by artists like David Bowie (most notably *Hunky Dory*, *The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…*, and *Diamond Dogs*), Mott the Hoople, and Madness. His distinctive guitar work is characterized by clean tones, melodic phrasing, and a versatile approach encompassing rock, pop, and art rock.

Beyond playing, Lloyd became a respected record producer, working with artists such as Hawkwind and Be Bop Deluxe. He also briefly rejoined John Peel’s backing band in the late 70s. Though often operating behind the scenes, Huw Lloyd’s influence on British rock music is substantial; his contributions remain integral to many iconic albums and songs.
