Flying Lotus, born Steven Ellison, is a pioneering American music producer, electronic artist, and rapper renowned for his innovative fusion of hip-hop, jazz, and electronic music. Emerging from Los Angeles’ vibrant underground scene in the mid-2000s, Flying Lotus quickly gained acclaim for his genre-defying soundscapes characterized by complex rhythms, lush textures, and experimental beats. As the grandnephew of jazz legend Alice Coltrane, his work often reflects a deep jazz influence blended with futuristic electronic elements.

Flying Lotus’s breakthrough album *Los Angeles* (2008) established him as a visionary producer, followed by critically acclaimed releases like *Cosmogramma* (2010) and *You're Dead!* (2014), which showcased his ability to seamlessly blend live instrumentation with digital production. His collaborations span a diverse range of artists including Kendrick Lamar, Thom Yorke, and Erykah Badu.
