Felix Riebl is an Australian musician, composer, and producer best known as the frontman and core creative force behind the globally successful indie-pop band, The Cat Empire. Born in Melbourne, Australia, Riebl initially trained as a jazz trumpet player at the Victorian College of the Arts, a foundation deeply influencing his songwriting and arrangements.

The Cat Empire, formed in 1999, quickly gained recognition for its energetic live performances and unique blend of jazz, ska, funk, Latin rhythms and rock. Riebl’s distinctive vocals and trumpet playing are central to the band’s sound. He's responsible for writing or co-writing many of their most popular songs including "Hello," "Sly," and “Brighter Than Gold.”

Beyond The Cat Empire, Riebl has pursued solo work, releasing his debut album *Everyday Life* in 2023 which showcased a more introspective and folk-influenced style. He’s also collaborated with artists across diverse genres. The Cat Empire has released numerous platinum-selling albums internationally and consistently sold out large venues worldwide. Riebl continues to tour extensively with both projects, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in Australian music.
