Ellen Arkbro is a Swedish composer and musician primarily working with just intonation, pipe organ, and vocal music. Born in 1990, she studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and completed a master’s degree at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague, focusing on improvisation. Arkbro’s compositions often explore the harmonic possibilities within extended just intonation systems, creating subtly shifting, resonant sound worlds.

She gained recognition for her solo organ works, notably *For Organ*, released on Room40 in 2018, which garnered critical acclaim for its meditative quality and unique tuning. Further releases include *Simple Gestures* (2020) and *Lampyridae* (2023), both continuing her exploration of microtonal harmony and extended techniques on the organ.

Arkbro frequently collaborates with other musicians, including Mariam the Believer and Lawrence English. Her work has been presented internationally at venues like Unsound Festival, Rewire Festival, and Donaueschingen Musiktage.
