Edna Vázquez (born October 16, 1977, in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a prominent Latin jazz and salsa vocalist, pianist, and composer. Rising to prominence as the lead singer of the acclaimed Spanish Harlem Orchestra from 2001-2011, Vázquez contributed significantly to their Grammy-nominated albums *Across 110th Street* (2004) and *Que Viva La Musica* (2007).

Beyond her tenure with SHO, Vázquez has established a successful solo career marked by a dedication to preserving and innovating within traditional salsa forms. Her debut solo album, *Contraste* (2013), showcased her songwriting prowess and vocal range. She followed with *Salsa Con Alma* (2018), earning critical praise for its authentic sound and vibrant arrangements.

Vázquez’s style blends classic salsa dura with elements of jazz improvisation, reflecting her formal musical training – she holds a degree in music from Rutgers University. Known for powerful stage presence and emotionally resonant performances, she frequently collaborates with leading figures in Latin music and actively champions Afro-Latino culture.
