Ben Davis is a highly respected American jazz bassist, composer, and educator. Born in 1964, he gained prominence as a long-standing member of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, joining in 1995 and remaining a core member for over two decades. His playing is characterized by a robust tone, impeccable timekeeping, and deep harmonic understanding rooted in the tradition of Ray Brown and Paul Chambers.

Davis’s discography includes several albums as a leader, notably *Coming Forth By Day* (2003), *Train Crossing* (2011), and *The Studio Session* (2017), showcasing his compositions and arrangements. He's also a prolific sideman, appearing on countless recordings with artists like Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, and Nicholas Payton.

Beyond performance, Davis is dedicated to jazz education. He has served on the faculty of the Juilliard School since 2008, shaping the next generation of jazz musicians. He frequently conducts masterclasses and workshops globally.
