Belleville, the collaborative project between Dom Maker and Ramsey Clarke, emerged from the UK’s burgeoning electronic music scene in 2015. Initially gaining traction through releases on Ninja Tune’s Bad Taste label, the duo quickly established a distinct sonic identity blending IDM, ambient, and subtly emotive house. Their sound is characterized by intricate, often melancholic melodies layered over sophisticated beatwork – think Boards of Canada meets early Aphex Twin with a modern, accessible sheen.

Belleville's debut album, *Husk*, arrived in 2017 to critical acclaim, praised for its textural depth and atmospheric quality. They followed this with *Better in the Dark* (2020), further refining their signature sound and expanding their fanbase. The project isn’t solely album-focused; Belleville are also prolific remixers, having tackled tracks for artists like Tourist and Bonobo.

Notably, their music frequently appears in film and television soundtracks, demonstrating its evocative power.
