Anthony Geraci is a highly respected American drummer, composer, and bandleader renowned for his deep immersion in the New Orleans jazz tradition. Beginning his professional career in the late 1980s, Geraci quickly became a fixture on the New York jazz scene, initially gaining prominence with the Harry Connick Jr. Orchestra from 1990-2003, contributing significantly to Connick’s commercial success and touring extensively worldwide.

Beyond Connick, Geraci leads his own ensembles – notably The Anthony Geraci Big Band and the smaller, intimate Geraci Project – consistently performing and recording original compositions steeped in swing, blues, and Second Line rhythms. He’s released several albums as a leader including *Pushing Limits* (2004) and *Naturally* (2016), receiving critical acclaim for his arrangements and powerful drumming.

Geraci is also a dedicated educator, holding positions at various institutions including the Jazz Studies program at Montclair State University. His playing is characterized by its robust swing feel, dynamic range, and authentic New Orleans groove—a direct result of years spent studying with legendary New Orleans drummers like Smokey Johnson.
