Amethyst (born Amethyst Kelly, November 28, 1991) is an American singer-songwriter and musician known primarily as the vocalist for the post-hardcore band PVRIS. Initially performing under the moniker "Holy Fawn," she adopted her given name as her professional identity with PVRIS’s formation in 2012. The band, based in Lowell, Massachusetts, quickly gained traction with their self-released EP *Is There Something Wrong With Us?* (2013).
PVRIS signed to Rise Records and released their critically acclaimed debut album *Say You To This* in 2015, showcasing Amethyst’s dynamic vocal range – spanning delicate cleans to powerful screams – and emotionally resonant lyricism. Subsequent albums *All We Know Is Falling* (2017) and *Use Me* (2020) continued to explore themes of vulnerability, anxiety, and societal critique, further solidifying PVRIS's place within the alternative music scene.
Amethyst's songwriting is central to PVRIS’s signature sound: a blend of electronic elements, atmospheric textures, and rock instrumentation.
