Afroferm, the project of Johannesburg-born, Berlin-based musician Ingo Schlupp, crafts a unique blend of ambient, electronica, and jazz-infused soundscapes. Initially gaining recognition through releases on labels like Dawltless and Schallplattenlabel, Afroferm’s music is characterized by heavily processed field recordings – often sourced from Southern Africa – layered with intricate electronic textures and subtle melodic elements.

His debut album, *Hokuto*, released in 2018, established his signature style of evocative, atmospheric compositions. Subsequent releases like *Silverleaf* (2020) and *Parallel Convergence* (2023) further refined this approach, earning critical acclaim from publications like *The Wire* and *Resident Advisor*. He's known for a deliberate pace of release, prioritizing depth over prolific output.

Afroferm’s work frequently explores themes of memory, place, and the intersection of natural and artificial environments.
