Experience Tacoma Central

Tacoma Central, located in the heart of downtown Tacoma, Washington, originally opened in 1916 as a Moose Temple, a fraternal organization hall. The building’s architecture exemplifies Beaux-Arts classicism, featuring a grand facade and ornate interior detailing still visible today. Converted into a music venue in recent years, it quickly became a key player in the Pacific Northwest music scene.

Unlike many venues focusing on one genre, Tacoma Central hosts a diverse range of performances including indie rock, alternative, hip-hop, electronic music, and national touring acts alongside local artists. Its unique layout – retaining much of the original temple’s character – offers both a spacious main floor with excellent sightlines and an intimate balcony area.

The venue boasts state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems within its historic framework. Notably, Tacoma Central frequently partners with local arts organizations for events beyond music, contributing to Tacoma's vibrant cultural landscape. It’s become known for its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to showcasing emerging talent while attracting established performers seeking a distinctive performance space. The building itself is listed on the Tacoma Register of Historic Places.
