Mississippi Studios, located in the vibrant Mississippi Avenue district of Portland, Oregon, began as a project by musician Chimby Rosa in 2002, initially as a recording studio (Mississippi Records label) before evolving into a performance venue. Housed in a former auto-repair shop, the building retains much of its industrial character – concrete floors, exposed beams, and a deliberately unpolished aesthetic contribute to its intimate and raw atmosphere.

The venue quickly became central to Portland’s independent music scene, showcasing a diverse range of genres including indie rock, folk, country, jazz, experimental music, and world music. It's known for hosting both established touring acts and emerging local artists. A key feature is its unique layout: a main indoor stage and an adjoining outdoor patio stage (often utilized during warmer months), creating distinct listening experiences.

Mississippi Studios isn’t just a concert space; it also houses a bar and frequently hosts community events.
