Experience Le Laiterie (Great Hall)

Le Laiterie (originally a dairy, hence the name – “The Dairy” in French) is a renowned concert venue in Strasbourg, France, housed within a former municipal milk factory dating back to 1887. Converted in 1981, it quickly became central to the city’s alternative and independent music scene. Architecturally, it retains much of its industrial character – exposed brick, high ceilings, and a raw aesthetic – offering a distinctly intimate and atmospheric experience unlike more polished concert halls.

The venue primarily hosts rock, punk, metal, electronic, and world music performances, often showcasing emerging artists alongside established names. It's known for its commitment to diverse programming and fostering local talent. Le Laiterie isn’t simply a performance space; it also functions as a cultural hub with rehearsal rooms available for musicians. Its relatively small capacity (around 450 standing/800 seated) contributes to an energetic and close connection between artists and audience. Historically significant as a cornerstone of Strasbourg’s counter-culture movement, Le Laiterie continues to be vital to the region's vibrant musical landscape.
