Lambeth Town Hall, located in Brixton, London, opened in 1908 as the administrative centre for the Metropolitan Borough of Lambeth. Designed by Edwin Cooper, it’s a striking example of Edwardian Baroque architecture, featuring a grand Portland stone façade and a distinctive clock tower. While primarily a civic building, the Assembly Hall within has become a significant music venue, particularly renowned for hosting reggae, ska, and world music events.

Historically, it served as a courtroom and council chamber; however, in recent years it’s gained prominence as a vibrant performance space. Unlike many purpose-built venues, Lambeth Town Hall retains its original ornate detailing – including intricate plasterwork and stained glass – creating a unique atmosphere.
