Experience Kultuurikatel (Culture Cauldron)

Kultuurikatel, located in Tallinn’s Telliskivi Creative City, is a dynamic cultural hub housed within a former Soviet-era power plant. Originally Tallinn Boiler Hall (Tallinna Katelmaja), built in 1938, it supplied heat to the city for decades before being repurposed in 2008. The building’s industrial architecture – exposed concrete, high ceilings, and massive machinery – remains a defining feature, creating a raw and atmospheric event space.

Kultuurikatel hosts a diverse range of events, leaning heavily towards electronic music (techno, house, drum & bass) but also featuring concerts spanning indie rock, alternative, and even classical performances. It’s particularly renowned for its large-scale club nights and festivals, often attracting internationally recognized DJs and artists. Unlike many venues, Kultuurikatel boasts both expansive indoor spaces *and* a sizeable outdoor area utilized during warmer months.

Historically significant as one of the first venues to champion Estonia’s burgeoning electronic music scene post-Soviet era, it continues to be a central location for both local and international artists seeking an authentic and impactful performance space.
