Founded by Jack Carroll, a former jazz drummer, the studios initially catered to Broadway rehearsals – hence the name – and quickly became a haven for musicians across genres. Housed within a converted warehouse at 348 West 14th Street, its unassuming exterior belies the history within its soundproofed walls.

Over decades, Carroll Studios has hosted rehearsals and early performances for iconic artists including Blondie, The Ramones, Talking Heads, and countless others pivotal to punk, new wave, jazz, and rock development.
