Experience Ars Nova
Ars Nova, located in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, is a non-profit arts organization and performance venue dedicated to advancing the careers of emerging artists in theater, music, and comedy. Founded in 2005 by Jenny Schwartz and Jon Steingart, Ars Nova quickly became a crucial incubator for innovative work. Originally housed in a small space on West 54th Street, it relocated to its current larger facility on West 45th Street in 2016 – a flexible black box theater designed to facilitate intimate and experimental performances.
Ars Nova champions genre-bending artists; while often featuring indie rock, pop, electronic music, and singer-songwriters, it’s known for prioritizing new and developing sounds. Notable past performers include Sharon Van Etten, FKA twigs (early performances), and many Broadway composers & lyricists who workshopped shows here before larger productions (like *Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812*).
