Zurich Chamber Orchestra will perform at ZKO-Haus on June 6, 2027. The orchestra is internationally recognized for its interpretations of classical and early Romantic repertoire, frequently performing works by composers such as Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven. However, their programming also extends to contemporary compositions, often commissioning new works and collaborating with living composers. A defining characteristic of the ensemble is its historically informed performance practice, prioritizing clarity and stylistic nuance based on research into the composers’ intentions and the performance traditions of their time.

ZKO-Haus, completed in 2014, serves as the dedicated concert hall for the Zurich Chamber Orchestra. Designed by Marcus Schulze and Lisa Pfister, the hall replaced the orchestra’s previous venue and was specifically engineered to meet their acoustic requirements. The building’s design emphasizes a compact form integrated into the surrounding urban landscape of Zurich West. It features a flexible space allowing for varied stage configurations and seating arrangements accommodating approximately 800 audience members. Beyond concerts, ZKO-Haus also functions as a rehearsal space and hosts educational programs related to chamber music. The hall is noted for its warm acoustics and intimate atmosphere fostering a close connection between performers and listeners.
