Zurich Chamber Orchestra (ZKO) is renowned for its interpretations of classical and early romantic repertoire, frequently performing works by composers such as Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven. The orchestra is also recognized for its commitment to contemporary music, regularly commissioning and premiering new pieces. Its sound is characterized by clarity, precision, and a historically informed performance practice – often employing period instruments or techniques to reflect the composer’s original intent.

The concert on November 1st, 2026 will be held at ZKO-Haus, the dedicated concert hall of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra. Originally constructed in 1939 as the “Tonhalle”’s smaller hall, it underwent extensive renovation and re-opened in 2014 specifically tailored to the needs of chamber orchestral performance. The building's acoustics were significantly improved during this process, focusing on creating an intimate and resonant space suitable for unamplified music.

ZKO-Haus isn’t simply a performance venue; it also functions as a rehearsal space and administrative center for the orchestra. The renovation incorporated sustainable building practices and aims to provide accessibility for all audience members.
