Yo-Yo Ma is internationally renowned as a cellist celebrated for his expressive tone, technical virtuosity, and broad repertoire spanning numerous musical periods and styles. The concert on April 14, 2027, will take place at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Originally known as Carnegie Hall Auditorium when the hall opened in 1891, it was renamed in 1997 to honor violinist Isaac Stern’s decades of advocacy for the hall and its artistic programming. The auditorium is famed for its exceptional acoustics; achieved through its shoebox design which minimizes standing waves and provides a natural reverberation. It has hosted nearly every leading musician of the past century and remains one of the most prestigious performance venues in the world.
